Jan 17 : "Drumbeat of the Apocalypse (Live In Studio)" - Sam Seeger (New York)

High point of that night at Goldsounds was New York artist Sam Seeger and his band. After pre-listening to his music on line, I was eager to see the outfit live. And I wasn't disappointed. While some bands show a wide difference between their web and live personas, this band doesn't show a gap.

I heard great guitar work, great drum work, and just the right amount of fuzz. The band has four members, with Sam Seeger up from doing the lead vocals and guitar. There are also one other guitar, a bass, and drums.

Maybe I should say the band has four regular members, but, at Goldsounds that night there was a surprise trashed audience member who walked up to the stage between each song and tried to shout over Sam as he was talking to the audience and announcing the next song. Everything he was yelling was complimentary, so that was good. ... Sam Seeger handled the situation well. The audience was entertained all around. :)

The band has a number of good songs posted on the web. One of their more recent pieces is "Drumbeat of the Apocalyse". Here is a video of the band playing the song live in a studio session: :::
